URL to Video AI: Paste a Link, Get a Short.
Paste the address of an article, a blog post or a newsletter issue. ShortsDFY reads the page, writes a script from what it says, and builds a 9:16 video you can edit before you render.
Most text-to-video tools start from a blank prompt. A link is a better place to start when the content already exists: the facts, the order and the angle are on the page, so the script summarises something real instead of something the AI made up.
ShortsDFY fetches the page, takes its text and condenses it into a short narrated script, split into scenes, up to 30 seconds long. Each scene gets a visual, a caption and its slice of the voiceover, and the whole draft lands in an editor where you can change any of it.
From link to finished Short in four steps.
Paste the URL
Any public article, blog post or newsletter issue. If a site blocks automated readers, you are told straight away so you can try another link.
Check the script
It is written from the page's own text. Pick a tone - Energetic, Informative or Storyteller - and rewrite any line you want to say differently.
Edit the free draft
Every scene has its own voiceover, headline and visual. Swap an AI image for one of the article's own images, reorder scenes, choose the music.
Render and download
Render the final 1080x1920 MP4 and post it to TikTok, Instagram Reels or YouTube Shorts.
What you get
Grounded in the page
The script works from the article's text, so the video says what the page says - which matters when accuracy counts for more than hype.
The article's own images
Switch on "Use article images" in the editor to open on the post's hero image and use its other images in any scene. Scenes you leave alone stay AI.
Edit before you spend a credit
The draft is free: placeholder visuals, a free voice, every scene editable. Render the final video only when it reads right.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which links work?
Public pages with readable text: blog posts, news articles, documentation, and newsletter issues on Substack, Ghost or Beehiiv. Pages behind a login or a paywall only give the part anyone can read, and a few sites block automated readers entirely - you see a message if so.
Can I paste a YouTube or TikTok link?
No. ShortsDFY generates a new video from written content - it does not cut clips out of an existing video. Paste a page that has text on it.
What about a Zillow listing link?
Use the Zillow Listing option instead. It reads the listing's photos, price and details, and builds the video from the property's own photos.
How long is the video?
Up to 30 seconds, vertical 9:16 at 1080x1920 - the shape TikTok, Instagram Reels and YouTube Shorts expect.
